This is the official thread for bugs and missing features for my project. This obviously now includes the re-coded client.

You can now create accounts and characters in-game.

Commands for Testing

/createitem
Creates an item. Takes named attributes and numbered items (see items.xml). Examples:

1.Some commands aren't working properly. I want to get ancient Kloness Axe hp91 (/createitem 503 Ancient 1 HP 91) and it gives me HP84.
2. At the beginning when i logged on i had 40-60fps. when im summon a boss monster my FPS goes down to 10-15FPS.
3. After kill an Abaddon, Abaddon black graphic does not disappear,that black graphic moves with me while i'm running.
4.The logout is bugged.
5. Sex change potion doesn't work.
6. You can't use dyes.
7. MAG and INT angel are at the height of the head otherwise than DEX and STR angel which are over the head.
8.Items cannot be bound (F2/F3)
9.Sometimes when you are going out from elvine shop, it teleports you to elvine (51,38)
10. Restart time is 10s instead of 5 seconds.
11. Upgrade bug- Put an item into upgrade/(F6->Upgrade) and close that
window.Item will stay in the same place where you put it.Map change gives that item back into your bag.
12. You can't use Crafting vessel,Smith's Anvil, Alchemy Bowl.
13. Wyvern have bad graphic. When im summon Wyvern, my FPS goes down to 1-2 FPS
14. You can "eat" all stones which you can get from rocks.
15. You can't use Invisible/DT scrolls and books(MFSmanual, Hand Atackmanual etc.)
16. Path finding problem.

Auto updater is available for download. A lot of client issues have now been fixed:

Use HelUpdate to start the game. It will update the files. Click "Launch" to start the game.

I will be making this OPEN TESTING within the next week or so. So if you want exclusive first-look, please PM me as per the original post.

BUGS
-High circle casting animation (gold/yellow circle underneath feet) Is drawn out of order. It is being drawn on top of the character when it should be drawn before the character.

-Magic list (spell book) doesn't show a value for casting probability on any of the spell pages.

-Targeting players/npcs with mouse while they move is difficult. Causes flashing of name/info while they run. Try running and highlighting yourself to see what I mean.

I have updated the Launcher- now version 1.0.0.2, so please download it again.

It is now a 32bit app (will still run on 64bit), and includes more intelligent checking to avoid needless downloading.

I cant run the updater. It says something like
"Cant open correctly (0xc0000135) Click "OK" to close."

And i tried install the .NET 4, and also i cant :/

Maybe its because for now i'm using a **** old computer... I'm to buy a new notebook next weeks, then ill need wait for test ;S

Gameplay Spoiler - Archers
Like the battlemage, Archers have been revamped to give them a unique feel.


Agility
Agility is being reintroduced as the primary stat for an archer- replacing Charisma. Agility will improve bow damage and defence ratio (DR), as well as unlocks high end Archer items.


Tri-shot Criticals
Criticals have a unique effect when using bows, they shoot 3 arrows instead of 1. Each arrow is 1/3 of the damage AFTER critical damage is applied, so you do not lose any damage. The first arrow always hits the target. The other 2 hit nearby enemies. If no other enemies are around, all 3 arrows will hit the main target.

Note that there are no restrictions to stat for this effect. Any build can use tri-shot criticals if they have a bow equipped.


Quivver
A quivver is a unique item equipped to your back slot (instead of a cape). The quivver has 3 slots to store arrows. This allows a player to store different arrow types and hotkey between them in the heat of battle.

If the slots are filled, Tri-shot will take 1 from each quivver slot. So, for example, you could have 1 slot with normal arrows, 1 slot with poisoned arrows, and 1 with flaming arrows, which would all shoot at the same time. This is advantagous if engaging a single enemy as they will be hit with all 3 types.

Quivvers will be dropped and statted the same as capes. Again, any player build can equip quivvers as long as their stats allow. Quivvers are not necessary, but you can only use normal arrows without it.


Armour
Like HBWorld, Archers will use hoods (caps) and leather armour. Hoods will have a natural hit probability increase for bows. Leather armour will have a natural absorption for physical arrows.

I'll be re-introducing the archer hero and godly armours that I started in HBWorld but never finished.

Weapons
There will not be 4 types of bows like HBWorld. There will be just short and long bows. Short bows earn a slight damage bonus to negate the lack of range. There will be special and rare bows, however- e.g. kloness, xelima, blood etc


Traps
Traps are making a come back as a utility for Archers. You will be able to plant multiple traps in a configuration, similar to the Wall/Field AOE spells. These configurations are unlocked with higher skill, meaning the better configurations require Agility. Each map tile in the configuration requires 1 trap. Traps are exhaustible. Traps have a time limit on them so that they clear periodically, and can be destroyed remotely by the person who planted them.

-bug on f12 window, u can restart the game even when u not dead.
-cant click on CH fatguy

-Items are harder to click on them in the bag

Here is an example of the current ingame interface overhaul (not actually ingame yet). Not complete but getting there.

Some notes regarding this: inventory can collapse/expanded, items sets can be configured and swapped to easily, no more weight (fixed amount of slots, probably more to come), still adding more things and tweaking. There will be a lot more use from the "inventory" screen compared to what your used to.

Some more gfx updates- Archer Hero armour.

Some additional notes regarding the new dialogs so far:

- Firstly big thanks to kinger for the artwork and Jappy's code and input to the new dialogs as I think they look and feel awesome.

- Bag/Character(equipment) screens are merged in to a single dialog box which can be in a compact view so you can only see your bag.

- As some may have noticed, I am moving angel/gem in to it's own slot so you'll be able to wield 2 rings at the same time as part of my improved PvP system. Same-type rings will not be stackable (e.g. Demon Ring + Xelima Ring), but it allows for more versatile builds (e.g. Demon Ring + Emerald Ring or Demon Ring + Lucky Ring).

- Bag sprites and character screen sprites will no longer be used, the new dialogs use the ground sprites, and the character screen will show you're in-game avatar. Hovering over an item will show on this avatar so you can see what it looks like before equipping.

- Items will show extended stats when hovering

- Item sets 1-5 are bound to hotkeys

- I plan to eventually allow people to move/hide elements of the HUD to their own locations so they can customize their viewport.

- The "Stats" view will show lots of information about the character that was previously not shown including DPS (new calculation I've added), MA, PA, DR, MR, SP Luck, Rep and so on. Eventually, I want to show the source of these stats when you hover them. E.g:

Air Absorption: 77%

Protection from Magic: 25%
Plate Leggings: 27%

Makes use of the mage cap (which will be replace with a wizard hat.

I'll be using a grey version of the hero cap (battle cap) for normal bmage armour as I think it looks better than peanut helm, but they can use either with various trade-offs.

Looks really really awesome, just hope the server is gonna be low. Meaning it should take a while to get max level, altough there needs to be alot of ingame content to do before reaching max and gradual increase of max level etc.

uhhhhh, i would be glad if the server goes in same ways of world/rebirth, the gameplay style... there are already goods lows servers to play, since Vamp leave hb world, never had a good high server... =/

Well... I don't want people to focus too much on high/low rate. It should eventually have plenty of content so you don't have to worry about rate. I plan on having separate PvE and PvP characters that can join PvP a long side PvE characters, a bit like Guild wars. I'll release more information about it in due course, but don't be worried about it as I've thought it through so that it won't suck ;)

So over the weekend (a part from spending time in the lovely sunshine and also celebrating my football team's first major trophy in 9 years), I worked on re-coding most of the Appearance code.

That is, the code which sends/receives information to display what other players around you are wearing and the colours. It now sends item Ids instead of Appearance values and also the colours in RGB format.

There are a lot of advantages of doing it this way, but there are 3 primary reasons I did this:
1) I can store more than 15 appearance values (e.g. 15 types of hauberk or 15 types of plate mail).I actually ran out of space when I did the BMage hero.
2) I can see all attributes of an item, which means I can load equipment on-demand, the same as I do with Npcs- making the loading screen extremely quick and the memory footprint lower.
3) I can use the full RGB for item dyes

This will all need testing. Although it is mostly working, I need to make sure I'm not causing network problems with the additional data being sent.


Another small thing that I completed at the same time was npcs with multiple perks. An NPC can now have up to 3 perks to make them more challenging. Perks are also more common. As a trade-off, I'll be giving bigger rewards, and possibly higher drop rate the more perks a mob has:

Normal HB servers have a 1% chance to get an NPC perk. It is now 20% for the first perk, 10% for the second and 5% chance for a third.

I've also increased the chance of a berserked Npc from 1% to 2%.

In anticipation for the new dialog designs, I've been playing with a new font renderer. The built-in XNA one sucks and caused lots of blurriness with scaled text. Typical example below of how much better this is:

Test server is currently Online. It has been up for 8 days. And no, I don't speak Spanish sorry.

So as you know, I've been working on improving the appearance values as per my last update, and that I was also working on full RGB colours. I now have something nifty so show.

Dye Mixing
From now on, there will be a set of base dyes- some that are dropable, some that are bought from the shop and some rarer ones. What you can do now is apply a dye to another dye to mix them. You can continue mixing Dyes together over and over- there is no limit.

See the graphic below:

In this example, I've got a base blue dye and base red dye. I applied the red to the blue to gain a "Mixed" dye, which is purple. I've applied each of these to capes to show you the outcome.

After that, I applied another red dye to my already mixed dye to make my purple a bit redder.

I will be making white and black dyes rarer. These base dyes will be useful for making colours darker and lighter- such as Red + White = pink.

Note that weapons will not be dye-able as I like the weapons to show their true prefix stat.

Quick update- I've got account creation hooked up and working. Character creation will soon be completed so I can upload the latest version (and finally open beta test) this weekend. The update will include all above changes, fixes and additions plus more which I haven't documented.

I'll be uploading a new auto updater as well, as it seems people don't read when I tell them they need the XNA framework!

Further good news is that I've started to get the first lot of artwork from kinger for the new dialogs, exciting! I'm going to be making all dialog positions be remembered after you close the game. In addition to this, all of the HUD components- hp bar, mp bar, sp bar, map name etc -will be movable and lockable. This will allow you to customize your HUD interface to your own play style. Once this system is in place, I'll add a bunch of additional HUD items that might be useful.

The first dialogs that will be completed are the HUD, the inventory/character screen, and the chat box. Watch this space.

v0.2.0.2 is now available! Testing is now open to all.

If you already downloaded the full version, please make sure you update the updater (HelUpdate.exe) to v1.0.04 as I've made some tweaks. Link is in the original post.

The new account and new character screen are now working. Note that new character creation only takes a name and gender- skin/hair/underwear are randomized. This is temporary until the new dialogs are implemented.

Please note that all previous accounts and characters have been deleted.

All other changes are noted in the original post. Enjoy!
