- Upgrade your computer.

- Update your graphics drivers.

- Turn off v-sync by going to control panel/ display properties/ settings/ advanced/ "video card name"/ additional properties then go to the Direct3D & OpenGL tabs. Look for v-sync and turn it to "always off".

- Go to control panel/ display properties/ settings/ advanced/ monitor and change your monitor refresh frequency to the highest supported that doesn't shrink the size of your screen.

- Lower details in options such as textures, resolution, model detail, sound quality, lighting effects, etc.

- If you have a Nvidia G-force card and use Windows XP/2000 you could use try Reforce .

- Overclock parts of your computer, e.g. change FSB settings in bios to overclock the CPU if it isn't locked, overclock your graphics card (for ATI cards use www.techpowerup.com/atitool and for nVidia use http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/978420955/1 ).

- Lastly , always scan your computer and close those unwanted application in Task manager.

I might of already posted this somewhere but here it is again.

Use at your own risk. Overpowering any video card can cause problems.

Make sure you have the latest drivers installed.

Disabling Vsync will greatly improve your FPS in game for most people.

1. Right click desktop then goto NVIDIA control panel, or just open your main NVIDIA panel however you do it normally.

2. Click the little arrow to open up the side tab if you have it. Select Performance & Quality Settings

3. Scroll down the Global driver settings list to Vertical sync then highlight it.

4. Uncheck Application-controlled and make sure the slider bar is set to off.

Make sure you have the latest drivers installed.

From advanced display settings, go to the '3D' tab and check the 'use custom settings' box for both direct3D and OpenGL. Press the 'custom...' button to access the controls for both modes. Turn the 'wait for vertical sync' slider all the way to the left.

This tool is very dangerous and if you dont know what your doing can and will fry your video card.
Dont use this unless your willing to risk having to purchase a new video card.

ATITool
Will only work on Windows 2000/XP/2003 (64 bit versions are supported).
This works on any brand of video card.
I am not providing details on how to use this, if you dont know what it is/does you shouldnt use it.

Download ATI Tool

70 is good enuf but ideal fps is between 120-160... for me anyways... there are some ppl who can have max fps which i think depends on each server... last time there was someone wit 250 fps... which was the cap for tht particular server... it all depends on the things above mentioned...

u cant cap somebodies FPS on a game. The fps is what your personal computer displays the game at. I have a top of the line pc and i run at about 70-140fps depending. And i have a p4 3.4 ghtz PC Hyper threaded with 1 gig ddr2 ram and a 8mb cable connection, which is very fast. i could get awesome fps out HB if i had a gfx card but im using the intel intergrated gfx processor which in turn sux ass.

LOL but im almost 99% sure that u cant make it to wear the cap u can have on a server is 80fps cause everybodies PC runs diff.

There are only 4 sprites out of that 6 sprite pack kinger set up that actually do some good. They are white footsteps, no trees, and cut off roof tops, and the Different Spell Effects (Not the pack that says HBU). Having only those four boosted my average FPS from 40ish, to 50ish at all times. While adding the others in (Big items and Grid) actually lowered my fps to 25-30ish.

so take my advice and only use the good ones

Is there a way to edit the angel pak and not see them (or not make them glitter)? They lag me down to 60 fps and make me run slow :(

Like kikoo I also have problems with the angel sparkle effect. My fps gets cut in half whenever an angel or any shiny effect comes into my screen. However it appears that merely removing the sparkle effect pak doesn't do anything.

kinger or any coders have a reply? =O

Yeah, it's the same with rain, weapons that make someone shine (like xel), or that sparkly crap in druncian city map. It's annoying

Can you umm give me specific instructions? I am a computer hardware newbie :\ I'd blame it on being female but I hate to be sexist.

edit: I think I have a pretty good comp and I should get more fps than I do. I get 60 max with an angel/gilttery thing on screen (or medium to high detail) and I get 100-120 on low detail with no glitter. That's pretty awful.
Image

Please tell me anything I can do to raise fps (at least when the glitter shit is around)

thanks
